Cryorig M9i Intel CPU Cooler Review

20th June 2016 3262 Like

Following on from our Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler review, we have an even smaller and lower price CPU cooler from Cryorig. This is the Cryorig M9i CPU cooler, and the “i” means Intel. Cryorig do have an AMD version, the M9a but we will be focusing on the Intel version today. We like Cryorig gear, it’s very high performing and high quality. The Cryorig H7 left us impressed with the cost versus performance attributes of the H7 but the performance on its own was only on par with the competitors we pitched it against.

Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler Review

Something a little more sane now than all the Nvidia GTX 1080 and AMD RX 480 noise and hype, and we genuinely mean little. We have tested a lot of flagship or large size CPU coolers but every so often we get a cooler that is designed and aimed for the low to mid-range of CPU’s and motherboards. This doesn’t mean a reduction in quality or performance, at least it shouldn’t, but a more focused and compatible cooler for the mid-range specialist that wants something a little special without breaking the bank.

Nanoxia CoolForce 2 Chassis Review

15th May 2016 3734 Like

Today we have the Nanoxia CoolForce 2 chassis for review. We have already seen the Deep Silence 1 Rev.B chassis from Nanoxia and we recommended it, it’s a very high quality chassis. The CoolForce 2 is aimed at a similar audience, with a number of the Nanoxia design cue’s and features, it’s another enthusiast level chassis with the watercooler fan in mind.

Aerocool Aero-800 Black Edition Chassis Review

2nd April 2016 5503 Like

We've previously reviewed the Aerocool Aero-1000 White Chassis and liked it. The Aero-1000 chassis got a solid 4.3/5.0 and was also recommended as a great all-rounder. The Aero-1000 is the high end PGS A Series chassis form Aerocool, with the Aero-800 in the middle and the Aero-500 starting the range off.

Asus Z170M Plus mATX Motherboard Review

20th January 2016 9936 1

Asus are calling this their “Flagship micro-ATX Z170 with 5X Protection II for dependable stability, fantastic DDR4 performance, and reversible USB Type-C connectivity”. It’s a rather odd claim for this motherboard, Asus have flagship product lines, the Rampage and ROG series for example. Why would they call Z170M Plus motherboard a flagship?

Lian Li PC-Q21 Mini-ITX Tower Chassis Review

17th January 2016 13899 Like

Now for something a little different, and the pun was intended. We have had the pleasure of a Lian Li chassis before, the PC-V1000 and it was amazing. This was in the day when you still had beige boxes and desktop chassis, where are they now? There has been a significant increase in mITX chassis and Lian Li have designed and released several examples in their usual style, and very much like the Lian Li PC-V1000.

ASRock Z170 Extreme4 Motherboard Review

12th January 2016 6750 Like

Every system builder these days will know the name ASRock, and it’s welcome, in the past ten years we have seen the number of motherboard manufacturers dwindle, losing the likes of Abit, Nvidia and even the mighty Intel from the motherboards arena.

Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 Rev.B Chassis Review

4th November 2015 5371 1

Nanoxia are a name you should know, and their Deep Silence chassis already has a following out there in modders land. With that said, it’s hard for a designer and manufacturer of system chassis and other cooling components to make a name for themselves in the shadow of the mainstream corporations.

EVGA Z170 Stinger Motherboard Review

5th October 2015 5798 Like

Anyone bought an Intel Z97 motherboard recently? We think it is one of the best Chipsets out there but Intel think it’s time for an upgrade. They recently launched their Skylake range of CPU’s and a supporting Chipset, the Z170. We have a couple of motherboard and CPU samples kicking around the office and we must admit we are already very interested in their capabilities and performance. We love mITX motherboards these days, and though still a compromise on what you can populate them with, there has been a step change from a couple of years ago, making a mini gaming rig possible and a performer too.

Intel i7-5820K and i7-5930K Processor Review

6th August 2015 3606 1

Skylake is here and it’s time for Intel’s Moore’s Law evolution, or is it? Last year Intel released their high end desktop CPU’s in the shape of the Intel Core™ i7-5820K, i7-5930K and the i7-5960X Extreme Edition. They haven’t been replaced and are still very strong, so should you overlook the Haswell-E?
